Since South Carolina's first Final Four appearance in 2015, the Gamecocks have gone from journeying to the Promised Land to residing there with this year being their fifth straight Final Four.

Since then they've won eight more SEC titles, been to six more national semifinals, and won three NCAA Championships. The Gamecocks have gone from journeying to the Promised Land to making a residence there with this year being their fifth straight Final Four. As the defending champs work to repeat one common sentiment rings; the target on their back is bigger than ever as teams take their best shot to knock off the top dogs.
South Carolina escaped two thrillers in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 against Maryland and Duke respectively. While in Birmingham, USC assistant coach Lisa Boyer said the absence of 6’7” Kamilla Cardoso has been felt this year as teams are able to match up just a little bit better, but she added the Gamecock staff went to work and found “another way to skin the cat.”
